Estate 2025 (summer playlist)
The Soundtrack to an Epic Family Adventure
This year’s playlist was born from our most epic family trip yet—28 days on the road, exploring Italy (with a quick Paris wedding detour!) and soaking up every moment together. Bonnie, as always, planned a trip for the ages, mapping out every stop, meal, and adventure with the kind of care that makes our family time truly special.
We kicked things off in Paris for a dear friend’s wedding, then spent the rest of the trip driving all over Sicily, winding our way from Puglia to Tuscany to visit friends, and finally rolling into Rome to meet up with John’s classmates. The soundtrack for our journey? Radio Kiss Kiss—Italy’s favorite pop station, blasting from our car speakers and every hotel room, filling our days with energy and laughter.
One song, “Pink Pony Club,” became a running joke after Bonnie misheard the lyrics as “Pink Pony Cup” and sang it with gusto. (We’re still calling it “Pink Pony Cup” at home!) Everywhere we went, Bonnie’s Italian skills stole the show—every cab driver in Italy was ready to adopt her, amazed at the tall blonde speaking flawless Italian. She’s truly the star of our Italian adventure, and we’re all so proud of how far she’s come. John and I bought her a Pink Pony Cup (coffee mug) as a thank you for the incredible trip she planned. We are reminded daily when she drinks her cappuccino of the fun times in the car on the trip.
This trip was extra special for me—I’d just stepped away from the company I founded and, for the first time, was able to be fully present with my family. No board calls, no emergencies—just pure, uninterrupted time together. John was six and a half (almost seven!), and his love for Italy and the language grew with every day.
Each song on this playlist is a memory:
John’s favorite: “OCEANICA” by Merk & Kremont & Jovanotti—he couldn’t get enough of those steel drum sounds.
Bonnie’s favorites: “Pink Pony Club” (forever “Pink Pony Cup” in our house!) and “Sto bene al mare” by Marco Mengoni (feat. Sayf & Rkomi).
Mark’s picks: The chill vibes of “Berdema” by Billy Esteban & friends (discovered over a spritz in Ortigia), and “SERENATA” by Serena Brancale & Alessandra Amoroso.
This playlist is more than just music—it’s a reminder of our family’s dreams, our commitment to living life the Italian way, and the adventures we hope to have together in Italy for years to come. We hope you enjoy listening, laughing, and maybe even singing along (even if you get the lyrics a little wrong, like we do).
Benvenuti nella nostra playlist 2025—may it inspire your own adventures!
