There’s nothing more Italian-American than a big pot of Sunday sauce bubbling away, perfuming the house and promising a meal that brings everyone together. In our family, the tradition started over a century ago in Bristol, Connecticut, where my great-grandparents built a home—and a legacy—around the Sunday table. While spaghetti and meatballs might raise eyebrows in Italy, here it’s a symbol of adaptation, hospitality, and love. Our sauce is always “sauce” (never “gravy”), our doors are always open, and there’s always room for one more at the table.
There’s nothing quite like the magic of a perfectly made cannoli—crisp, golden shells filled to order with creamy, not-too-sweet ricotta. From my first bakery job at 15 to tasting the best cannoli in Sicily, my pursuit of this iconic Italian dessert has been a lifelong adventure. Discover the sweet history, Sicilian secrets, and why making cannoli from scratch is a joyful journey worth every step.
